What are your operating limitations?
Under commercial operations (Part 107) within uncontrolled airspace (not near airports) general rules are the drone must be operated within visual line of sight (VLOS) with a maximum altitude of 400 feet Above Ground Level (AGL). We can fly higher to inspect towers and other non-natural structures.
Can you operate near an airport?
Yes, we can request authorization to fly near airports with more limitations as we get closer to the airport.
How does weather affect drone operations?
Regulations require drones to stay 500 feet away from the clouds up above and 2000 feet horizontally. The sky we operate in must be clear (at least 3 statue mile visibility). We do not operate drones in dangerous conditions such as gusting high winds or rainstorms.
Do you record videos and take pictures of weddings and other events?

Do you edit videos?
Yes, we offer video editing services, we can also cut videos for social media.
Who is in charge, who is responsible for the drone, the operation and the crew?
We are the Remote Pilot In Command (RPIC), we are responsible for conducting safe drone operations and making you aware of any potential hazards. In the case there are hazardous conditions, the weather does not cooperate, or a temporary flight restriction (TFR) was issued for the area we would cancel the operation.
Can you fly over people?
Drones are only allowed to fly over people if certain conditions are met. The FAA categorizes drones for Operations Over People (OOP) and over open assemblies (large gatherings). We do offer OOP flights operations over open assemblies. Contact us if you have questions.
Can you fly at night?
Yes, basically the same rules apply, drones will be equipped with anti-collisions lights, and the operating area should be dim to allow the pilot to clearly see the drone and remain within visual line of sight.
Do you fly over moving vehicles?
Yes, however same rules apply as flying over people, in addition the route needs to be closed off with sparse traffic and a notice of operation. It is best to fly near the moving vehicle than over it. In addition; cars, trains, boats, bicycles, etc. or also considered to be moving vehicles.
Did you receive training and certification?
Yes, we leverage one of the most reputable training centers (Pilot Institute) for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) training. We passed the FAA Part 107 remote pilot UAG test and received the certificate.
What happens if an accident occurs?
We are required to report accidents that cause damage over a certain dollar value or injury level to the FAA within a certain period of time. If the drone crashes itself or there is significant damage and or injury, we must report the incident to the NTSB immediately. To date we have a clean record.
Are there privacy concerns with drones?
There are privacy concerns with any camera enabled device, we make our best effort to not record video or take pictures of private property that is not part of the operation. In the event we capture details in private property that is not intended, the video or pictures will either be discarded or cropped out.
Are your drone operations insured?
We will include insurance when we send a quote for the service requested. If you need higher insured amounts or have other requirements, we can also make accommodations.
Do you work on "public safety" projects like search and rescue for example?
Please contact us, we may be able to help. If we are piloting our own drones, we will need to know if the program is government funded and requires drones made in the US.
Can you work on government programs, and will you be able to comply with government regulations such as ITAR and obtain other clearances?
